Reporting a bug

Include what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead, plus:

• Your iPhone model and iOS version.
• The Pulsebase version (Settings tab, at the bottom).
• Whether it happens every time or only sometimes.

Please don't send us your health data. We don't want it, and we can almost always diagnose a problem without it.

Common questions

The app is empty after I connected Health

iOS doesn't tell an app which health categories you actually granted — a permission sheet you dismissed quickly looks identical to one you approved. Open the iPhone Settings app → Privacy & Security → Health → Pulsebase and confirm the categories are on, then tap Full Re-Sync on the Today tab.

My newest workout isn't showing up

Pulsebase syncs incrementally on launch and in the background, but iOS decides when background work runs. Opening the app pulls in anything new. If a specific workout never appears, a Full Re-Sync rebuilds the dataset from scratch.

The AI features are greyed out

They need your own Google Gemini API key, entered in Settings → AI. Keys are free to create at aistudio.google.com/apikey. The key is stored in your iPhone's Keychain and used only to talk to Google directly. Every non-AI feature works without one.

Where is my data, and how do I delete it?

The Parquet dataset lives inside the app's own container on your iPhone. Deleting the app deletes it. If you turned on cloud sync, the copy in your own iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive stays there until you remove it — deleting the app doesn't reach into your cloud account. You can disconnect a provider at any time in Settings → Cloud Sync, and revoke access from the provider's own security settings.

Cloud sync won't connect

Sign-in happens in a system browser sheet, so an aggressive content blocker or a VPN can interrupt the redirect back to the app. Try again with those off. Pulsebase asks for the narrowest scope each provider offers — enough to write its own folder, nothing more.

Can I open the exported files on my computer?

Yes — that's the point. The dataset is standard Apache Parquet, and every sync writes a data dictionary next to it. Point DuckDB, pandas, R, or a command-line AI tool at the folder in your cloud drive and query it directly. Nothing about the format is specific to Pulsebase.
